Vitamins No Good In Preventing Cancer In Women
Jacksonville - A new study has shown that vitamins are no good in helping prevent cancer in women.
The study has been published this week in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and was headed up by Dr. JoAnn Manson of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
The study follows two previously released studies which show that vitamin supplements do not prevent cance.r
The latest study focused on beta carotene, vitamin C, as well as vitamin E supplements.
What they found was that long-term use of these supplements failed to lower the overall cancer risk.
The study was done on over 7,500 women who were an average age of 60 and took the vitamins for nearly 10 years.
