Farrah Fawcett Anal Cancer Update 4

Friday, 15 May 2009

In her third year of battling cancer, 62-year old actress Farrah Fawcett has taken a turn for the worse. She has been hospitalized in Los Angeles, with her family members at her side. The poster child of the 70′s and former angel from the original Charlie’s Angels has recently returned from a cancer treatment center in Germany. She had flown there 6 times during her battle, where she received chemo therapy, radiation and laser therapies, as well as embryonic stem-cell treatments for her cancer.

Fawcett was first diagnosed in September of 2006, with anal cancer. The actress then traveled back and forth to Europe for different treatments and only a short 4 months later had found that her cancer had gone into remission. Unfortunately, she suffered a recurrence 2 months after that in May 2007. Fawcett has continued to battle this terminal illness for the last two years. She has allowed cameras to follow her, while documenting her treatment. The actress had stated that, “this is what cancer is”. The anal cancer has spread to her liver, causing Fawcett to be bedridden, vomiting, and deathly ill.

Her long term partner, Ryan O’Neal and their son Redmond have been by Farrah’s side. Ryan O’Neal has reportedly been begging Fawcett to marry him quickly before her appending death. He recently told People Magazine that he “would be lost without her” and that their story is a true “love story”. Fawcett has reportedly declined, stating that she just wants them to have had a “good thing”.

  1. I am a life long fan of Farrah, but after seeing her documentary, I must say that I’m a bigger fan now! How brave of her to show the world her pain, her strength, and what may be her demise. The most beautiful woman, inside and out, now struggling to live. Being Catholic myself, I know she has found God in this time of trouble, and she will meet him to walk by his side in eternity. We all pray she has a miracle. If that doesn’t happen, we can all take comfort in knowing she will be happy, healthy, and pain-free in eternity. God Bless you Farrah! Thank you for letting us know what the struggle has been for you. You’re still amazing!
