Swine Flu Still Soaring Around The World
Monday, May 18, 2009 – Swine Flu is soaring its way around the world.
Scientists around the world are starting to study the virus and the cause of it. A worker at the influenza virus research center in Japan’s National Institute of Infectious Diesases discovered that the new strain of A/H1N1 is about the at the same level as that of a normal seasonal influenza, but this virus seems to be more highly contagious than the regular seasonal ones are.
With scientists studying and finding genetic sequence can make way for scientists to discover the origination of its evolvement and how it is spread. It can also help them to find a vaccine for the illness.
Several countries have developed rapid tests for the A/H1N1 virus. In Japan they state that their test takes only six hours to detect the virus by mixing a newly developed reagent with mucous from the patients throat.
As the H1N1 Influenza (swine flu virus) is starting to hit different countries, many healthcare personal advise people to stay home if they are sick, children and adults. Wash your hands frequently using soap and water for at least twenty seconds. Cover sneezes and coughs with either the inside of your elbow, or a tissue. Make sure once you feel ill to go see a doctor right away to get tested for the illness.
