Controversial AIDS Campaign Has People Talking
Perhaps playing on the way most people in their country feel about the legacy left by Adolph Hitler, a charity in Germany is set to release an AIDS awareness commercial depicting Adolph Hitler as the devil you may be in bed with if you choose to have unprotected sex.
The vivid ad shows a woman and a very convincing look-alike of Adolph Hitler having sex. The slogan displayed on the screen is “AIDS is a mass murderer – protect yourself!â€
The ad came from a German charity called Regenbogen. The reasoning behind their chilling depiction is the belief that people have begun to get complacent about AIDS and the dangers of unprotected sex.
Many backers of this campaign feel that it is time to start raising awareness again. Too many have forgotten that AIDS is still responsible for killing people every day. In Germany, Hitler is one face that conveys evil and the idea was to emphasize that AIDS is still a huge threat.
There are those who condemn this ad because they feel the only point that comes through is that the woman in the ad has chosen to be with someone evil like Hitler. This puts a bad light on the woman, thus losing the message that the ad was meant to convey.
