FDA Panel Pushing For Added Testing To Diabetes Drugs
Washington – An FDA panel has voted in favor of forming new, more strict safety standards for diabetes drugs.
The FDA panel came in with a vote of 14-2 on Wednesday in favor of tougher standards.
The tougher standards will lead to longer trials, and added costs to drug manufacturers.
In the long run though. it will help reduce the number of unforeseen health risks, such as heart problems.
The FDA does not have to follow the advice of the panel, but it usually does so.
