Health-care reform with Obama administration
Seattle – The new Obama administration wants to reform the healthcare system. This is a very important task because many people in the United States of America do not have medical insurance. When President Elect Barack Obama campaigned for president he talked about developing a universal health care system.The health care system is a situation that needs to be dealt with right now because for many Americans, the situation is dire.
If Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s health care plan is passed then Americans will have insurance coverage that is similar to the type of health care coverage that members of our federal government including senators and members of Congress have. If this type of health care coverage works for federal employees then it should work for every day Americans too.
Barack Obama’s health care plan would make sure that insurance companies cover preexisting medical conditions. It is important for health insurance companies to cover preexisting medical conditions. Many people lose their health insurance coverage because the insurance company finds out that they have a preexisting medical condition. The insurance companies do not want to pay for all of the expenses that are incurred because of a preexisting condition so they cancel the health insurance policies of those who are found to have preexisting medical conditions.
The Obama-Biden health care plan would also help small business owners provide their employees with health insurance benefits. Small business owners would get a tax credit for providing their employees with health care benefits. This would help small business owners absorb some of the costs that they would incur due to providing health care coverage for their employees.
The Obama-Biden health care plan would make sure that all children have health insurance coverage. They would do this by forcing parents to purchase health insurance for their children. This is essential to making sure that children receive proper and adequate medical care. All children should be able to have access to proper medical care. It is a parent’s responsibility to make sure that their children are happy and healthy. If the government forces parents to get medical coverage for their children then it works towards accomplishing this goal.
The Obama administration wants there to be more competition in the health care industry. This is good for Americans because if there is more competition in the health care industry then health care costs will be lower.
The plan would also help to lower the price of prescription drugs. The plan would allow Americans to choose where they get their prescription medications from. Many people with chronic illnesses, especially elderly people would really benefit from lower drug costs because they live on a fixed income.
The Obama administration is trying to take drastic action to help make it easier for Americans to have adequate health insurance coverage. If everyone is healthier then we as a country are more successful. The Obama-Biden health care plan if passed will positively impact the lives of millions of Americans.
Please advise as to President-Elect Obama is going to assist low and middle income working families with refundable child care tax credits. If this becomes a priority of his, then we have a large organization effort to push at the Indiana legislature. I would like very much to be sent an application for public service. You have to be kidding. Obama’s plan is being denounced by prestigious magazines like Forbes for adding trillions of dollars to government costs, putting severed controls on treatments and drugs, and rationing health care.
We know what, for example is happening in the UK with the National Health Service (NHS). Patients with dangerous cancers are told to wait months before they even see a doctor, the hospitals are not clean and patients get infections, patients are stacked in hallways because there are no beds, routine operations are botched, and patients often are not unloaded from ambulances in order to make the performance records better by not admitting them. Its a joke in the UK that the people in NHS Hospitals quietly say “after all, death is a very cost-effective resolution.” And the Government is seriously considering limiting some treatments to those under 60 and denying care to the obese, drinkers, and smokers. And, there are no malpractice suits.
What Obama is proposing is wholly unsatisfactory and if he gets it through Congress, America’s excellent health care is finished.
And for those who say “what about the uninsured?” I spent a day yesterday in the Emergency room in our hospital and the police brought in a young man in prison clothes with ankles chained. He had overdosed on heroin. He told one of the officers the story of his life: No education, unemployable, no home, no money, a drug addict, but enough money to buy heroin. Arrested many times, smuggled heroin into the jail, and brought to the emergency with overdose. He received excellent care, was treated, recovered, and was marched back to jail.
As I was leaving, I noticed that many people in the waiting room must have been in the same situation. So, why should poor people, or the young who don’t need much medical care be so stupid as to buy health insurance? They have free medical care, guaranteed to them by Federal Law which forces hospitals to give free care.
Obama’s plan is, in some ways, similar to the child’s health care program in Hawaii which was recently canceled. It was a total financial disaster, and the state discovered that people just canceled their children’s insurance and depended on the state.
The Government is not the solution, and Obama will kill our health coverage and ration care. This is the situation in Canada — whose citizens come to the US for life-saving treatment denied them in Canada — this is true for every government health system in the world. I we get sick and treatment is denied, where can we go?
