Mississippi has more teen pregnancies than any other state
Seattle - The number of teen pregnancies has increased in twenty six states. The government found this out because of birth certificates. The data showed that the number of teen births during the year 2006 increased from the number of teen births during 2004-2005 and 2003- 2004.
The government found that the teen birth rate increased by three percent. Now there are approximately 41.9 births per one thousand births amongst teen aged girls that are between the ages of fifteen and nineteen. The state of New Hampshire currently has the lowest teen birth rate. The state has 18.4 teen births in every one thousand births.
The state with the highest teen birth rate is the state of Mississippi. Mississippi has 68.4 births per one thousand births amongst teen aged girls that are between the ages of fifteen and nineteen.
What has caused the increase in teen births? Many people speculate that the amount of sexually explicit content on television is a cause for the increase. Shows like Gossip Girl deal with adult situations and many teen aged girls watch this drama and mimic the behavior that they actors and actresses portray.
Many teens do not have access to birth control and are afraid to talk to their parents about sex so they often engage in unprotected sex and become pregnant. There needs to be better sex education programs in schools to help educate teenagers about sex, birth control, and sexually transmitted diseases. Hopefully, something can be done to help lower the teen birth rate in the future.

I’m sick and tired of the south failing in everything and the rest of the states having to pick up the slack!!
I wonder it it’s because of all the tax cuts they get, or if it’s because they place last in education each year (due to tax cuts and the church), or perhaps it’s because ignorance prevails over inelegance down there, or it’s their obesity problem, or maybe it’s because they think Christ is going to come and save them soon so they don’t have to be responsible members of society.
My message to the south…….. DO US ALL A FAVOR AND STOP REPRODUCING YOUR MAKING OUR GREAT COUNTY LOOK LIKE A BUNCH OF SLOBS!!!!!
Mississippi … not Alaska? C’mon, Levi and Bristol, ya got babies to make! One ain’t enough! And don’t bother to get married before the little bundle arrives! Grandma Sarah showed us how stupid Alaskans are … and you two proved it. Unmarried, uneducated, incapable of figuring out that mom’s “Abstinence Only” birth-control policy means DON’T SCREW! Sheesh! We don’t need more children born to children … not in Mississippi, not in Alaska … not anywhere!
Only TRUE LOVE, ATTENTION keep them safe, I BELIEVE. Please don’t blame others. People worry about steep food costs and obesity, though, they spend less on ‘back to school ‘ , citing recession. People criticize the car manufacturers for their inferior energy efficiency, while the articles over the FUTURE-ORIENTED renewable energy and energy- efficient autos can’t be easily found on the the front page. People are concerned about the unhealthy diets, however, they ignore the toxic environments on the internet in the name of freedom. War calls for more substance abuses, internet porns, violences, too much gaming to paralyze the conscience, rationality. Teens, youths are in dire need of their parents’ care and love above food, which lead them to use internet for the sound informations, education, just as the new president mentioned. A new study found that 1 in 5 teens have electronically sent, or posted online, nude or semi-nude photos of themselves.
In a follow-up study, Moreno emailed the surveyed MySpace users to caution them about their posts on sex and substance abuse. Forty-two percent of them changed their profile within a month. Researchers hope parents take note.”As a stranger, we had some impact, but think about the huge impact someone that that teen knows and cares about and looks up to, imagine the impact that could have,” Moreno said. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION !
