Colon Cancer Study Involving Avastin Expected By April

Seattle - Genetech Inc said Tuesday that results from its colon cancer study involving Avastin for patients who have had surgery, could be released as early as April.
Avastin is currently approved to treatment metastatic and advanced colorectal cancer.
The 2,710-patient study, known as NSABP, is designed to show it can delay disease progression in an earlier setting after tumors have been removed by surgery
Genentech is the world’s second-biggest biotechnology company after Amgen Inc.
The study is is being conducted by the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project and sponsored by the National Cancer Institute.
