Caffeine Can Reduce The Risk Of Skin Cancer

Seattle - That morning cup of coffee may be giving you a lift in more ways than one. New studies are suggesting that coffee is a great tool in fighting skin cancer.
The caffeine in coffee empowers ATR, a protein which promotes healthy cell growth, and in turn healthy skin. Caffeine cream may even be available in the not too distant future to fight skin cancer.
This is great news for most Americans. A few cups of coffee a day is not uncommon in our demanding society, and a cup of joe has become a popular coping mechanism for those mornings when it’s hard to get going.
However, this doesn’t mean you should up your daily coffee dosage. Researchers do not recommend you change your caffeine habits.
“We are by no means recommending that people change their beverage habits,” said Paul Nghiem of the University of Washington and a team member of the new study. . It would take regularly drinking six cups of coffee a day to decrease the risk of incidence by just 30 percent, and tea has only half the potency of coffee, he added.
While skin cancer is not the most prevalent or dangerous form of cancer, it is a huge problem none the less. With proper skin protection and a daily dose of caffeine, you can prevent many a trip to the dermatologist.
