Over 100 People Sick on Cruise Ship UPDATE

Monday, 02 Mar 2009

Seattle – What should have been a fun filled vacation didn’t turn out that way for more than 100 people sick on a cruise ship. Soon after it left the port in California, individuals became sick with a severe virus that caused both vomiting and diarrhea. Even 4 crew members aboard were affected by it. In order to prevent the further spread of it, those with the sickness were asked to remain in their rooms until they could return to the port.

Such efforts have been put into place after previous issues with such viruses aboard cruise ships. All of the events on the ship were temporarily canceled as well. After those passengers were removed from the cruise ship, efforts were in place to sanitize every inch of it. This way there wouldn’t be a recurrence of the problem.

The remaining passengers and crew were able to set sail again after this turn of events definitely changed the image some on the ship had for their vacation to the Mexican Riviera. This type of scenario has been reported on other cruise ships in recent years as well.
