Circumcision helps protect men, not women from AIDS
Researchers searching for an unusual method of controlling the spread of the HIV virus were met with disappointment in recent days following the discovery that male circumcision is not helpful in narrowing the likelihood of transmission of the virus to women during sexual congress. Scientists had discovered that circumcised men were much less likely to contract the disease and had hoped that it could be proven that circumcised men with AIDS would be less likely to spread the disease to female sex partners as well. However, the fact that circumcised men are less likely to contract the virus still lowers the overall population of HIV and AIDS patients, a fact that researchers celebrate as positive news for the entire community.
The male foreskin is comprised of cells that are particularly susceptible to infection by the HIV virus, and the removal of this skin makes infection much less likely. It was hoped that the removal of this area would also make the transmission of the virus by infected men to their female partners less likely. However, the Uganda based study was terminated after it was discovered that women partnered with circumcised, HIV positive men were becoming infected at the same rate as those partnered with uncircumcised men. The study was published in The Lancet medical journal.

It is not very nice to circumcise boys or girls… I know I know TRADITION !!!. It has been well proven that Circumcision of girls can reduce desire for sex, which can reduce risk of aids etc, and it provides jobs for the practitioner doing the deed. It is a barbaric act period.
May be barbaric but it IS a proven life saver!

Whatever happened to the part of the physician’s creed dictating that “first the physician should do no harm”. I have always suspected that the true motivator for male circumcision was the pediatricians pocket book.
Until there is clear proof of the efficacy of this nasty procedure, it should be discontinued.

I’m sorry Clean, but a Vagina smells and harbors bacteria if you don’t clean it. The same goes for your anus. Should we somehow cut that out too? How about instead of promoting a barbaric procedure you teach your children how to clean properly and USE A CONDOM! I’m so thankful my family kept me intact. Why is it that those with such strong positions FOR circumcision are likely cut themselves? Look up cognitive dissonance.
I am circumcised, so are many many americans born between 1960-1980 [most of us are good at making our wives happy because that slight difference in sensibility keeps us longer in action before climax]. Post second world war, circumcision was popular because it was the clean way togo, and people did what their doctors recommended. Now, the extremists have come up with this b-s about circumcision, the truth of God… even abortion… (ha,ha!) Whatever.If you if want to live in your little fantasy of a “supposedly-christian”, fanatic world: [eg: Real Christianity is not what you preach] have at it. But don’t push your falsified morals against us, normal people. For that, we have rights, and we are keeping them, thank you.

Circumcision should be mandatory. Removal of the useless clitoral hood and redundant labia improves hygiene by eliminating smegma. And quite frankly an uncircumcised vulva looks nasty. Ewww! Circumcision prevents vulvar cancer, a terrible disease. Men prefer a clean vagina, and there’s no medical study that proves uncircumcised women have more sensation. In the U.S., labiaplasty - read circumcision - is now the 3rd most popular cosmetic surgery chosen by women. Shouldn’t it be done during the neonatal period when the pain won’t be remembered? A circumcised girl will thank her parents. I’m cut, and I plan to give my daughters the same benefit. To heck with these anti-circ nuts!
I know as a woman, I can not stomach the stench of a un-circumcision man and the cheese is disgusting on the flip side sexually they do nothing for me even after cleaning. Huh!
