Think Before You Rinse

As if you did not have enough worries with the swine flu virus, a recent study as shown that something as innocent as stepping into the shower can be hazardous to your health. Studies were conducted in various US cities and showerheads have been found to carry an unhealthy doses of bacteria.

The wet, warm surface of your showerhead could be a breeding ground for bacteria than can cause various ailments including lung disease. As the water pulsates, bacteria is dispersed and lingers in the air ready to be breathed in by unsuspecting victims.

Most healthy people are not at risk, however, if you have a compromised immune system it is suggested that you change your showerhead to the metal variety.

To be on the safe side, next time you jump in the shower and raise your face up to the warm, inviting stream of water, think twice and let the water run for a bit before you indulge.
